SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Inside the Oncenter, it was standing room only as the public hearing on the budget lasted several hours.

While the topics ranged from the juvenile detention system to tourism, a majority of the comments centered around the proposed cuts to staffers and their hours.

The conversation got contentious at times, but the legislator presiding over the meeting said he made it a point to listen to everyone and take their opinions into consideration

County legislators will discuss the budget at their meeting Tuesday. By law, a decision must be made by Thursday.
