One downtown Elmira project complete
ELMIRA, N.Y. -- Elmira leaders are showing off the latest downtown revitalization project.
Crews recently completed work on the West Water Street building that houses Los Pancho's restaurant and Hogan's Pub.
The owner says New York Main Street dollars helped him restore the exterior and expand the restaurant to include a margarita bar. He encourages other owners to undertake similar projects.

"With renovations to the buildings downtown, we can bring more people in and it makes it more attractive for other businesses to want to come in and participate and be a tenant in downtown Elmira," said building owner Doc Colunio.
"I know we'll see more people interested in opening businesses which is going to give us maybe some retail, a coffee shop. I really think it's going to have a snowball effect," said Elmira Downtown Development Director Jennifer Herrick.
Main Street dollars are going into other buildings on South Main and West Water Streets. And leaders hope for more Water Streets projects in the next couple of years.
