Local program ensures children have beds to sleep in
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Dozens of children will sleep a little better in the coming nights.
More than 150 beds, along with frames and box springs, are being donated to the Binghamton community. Volunteers of America is teaming up with Beds 4 Kids for this monthly program.
Organizers came up with the idea after they said they saw a great need within the community.

"It is our belief that a lot of things happen as children are growing up. Too many kids sleeping in the same bed together, or sleeping on the floors and we have an opportunity to make a difference," said Wes Beltran, Volunteers of American Facilities Director.
Depending on the program's success rate, organizers may give out beds out every other week.
