CLEVELAND, N.Y. -- It’s a special day for Post 858 in Cleveland as it's not only a day to honor veterans but also to celebrate a new beginning at the local American Legion. Of course there will be ceremonies across the country acknowledging all who put their lives on the line for our country.

In Cleveland there will be an open house in a brand new reception hall that will showcase historical artifacts from past wars as well as pictures and memorabilia from local veterans.

Post 858 is made up of about 120 members and officials say a new reception hall for meetings and other events was much needed. The open house will also be a push to recruit more members.

The Legion is looking forward to a good turnout for events and of course hopefully everyone will take some time out of their day to acknowledge and remember the people who have fought for and are currently fighting for our nation.
