Vera House kicks off White Ribbon Campaign

By: Web Staff

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Supporters of Syracuse's Vera House marched through downtown Syracuse and tied white ribbons as part of an annual campaign to end domestic violence.

The community is being urged to wear white ribbons or display them between now and April 6th as a show of support in the effort. Vera House hopes the campaign sends a message to men and women.

“Take a stand and never commit, remain silent or ignore abuse that happens around them. We think that our work, we hope someday to not have so many victims to serve and campaigns like the White Ribbon Campaign are about helping to change a community's standards that's tolerated abuse for far too long,” said Vera House President Randi Bregman.

White ribbons can be purchased at local Byrne Dairy stores throughout the next ten days with proceeds going to Vera House.
