ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- One of the largest model train shows in the northeast took over the fairgrounds this weekend. More than 30 displays were set up for people to check out. Organizers say this is a great event for train-buffs and a big fundraiser for the local Railway Historical Society.
"We just painted the GG one locomotive in train exhibit at the state fair and that was over $6,000 and we have other things we painted this year. One of the cabooses and one of the passenger cars in the exhibit,” said Michael Flannery, CNY National Railway Historical Society.
More than 100 vendors were also on hand. The event draws close to 6,000 people.
