New Hartford taxes going up 46 percent

New Hartford residents are buzzing about next year's property taxes. The town board approved the 2010 budget Wednesday and it includes a 46 percent tax increase. Iris St. Meran spoke with some residents who were hoping for a different outcome.

It's been weeks since voters cast their ballots in the three way race for the 23rd Congressional District seat. A tightening of the numbers between democrat Bill Owens and conservative Doug Hoffman has led to talk of Hoffman "un-conceding." It's a first for Oneida Police, a meth lab bust within the city. Police arrested two people after searching a home on 127 Farrier Avenue Sunday morning. Inside, they found meth, drug making equipment, syringes, marijuana and a drug scale.

Legal Eagle: Terror suspects to be tried in Federal Court

US Attorney General Eric Holder announcing Friday, that five terror suspects, including Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the self-proclaimed mastermind of the September 11th attacks, will be tried in Federal Court in New York City. Five other Guantanamo Bay detainees will face a military commission, as President Obama takes steps to close the facility.
