Students remember Ithaca freshman
ITHACA, N.Y. -- Students on the Ithaca College campus are mourning the loss of a 19-year-old freshman.
Wednesday morning divers found the body of 19-year-old freshman William Jacobson in a retention pond. Jacobson was last seen leaving a costume party to walk back to his room on campus Sunday night.
At this time police do not think his death is suspicious and are awaiting a toxicology report to determine if he had been drinking alcohol at the time of his death.
Friends of Jacobson held a candlelight vigil for him Wednesday night. So many students went to the chapel they spilled out onto the lawn.

College president Peggy Williams said nothing like this has ever happened on campus and said the college will offer support for students. Those we spoke with said dealing with a loss like this is hard on the college community.
Jacobson was from St. Paul, Minnesota.
