ITHACA, N.Y. -- Bill Nye "The Science Guy" brought his science expertise to Ithaca Sunday.

Nye led a planet walk tour starting at the Ithaca Commons and ending at the Science Center.

The tour followed the Carl Sagan Planet Walk.

It was created to honor the late Cornell professor of astronomy.

Astronomers were stationed at each planet to answer questions.

Hundreds of people turned out to take the tour.

"They are part of the scheme of things and I hope at some point they will at some point embrace the notion that they can- dare I say it- change the world," said Bill Nye, the current Planetary Society vice president.

Nye is a Cornell University alumnus, and a former student of Carl Sagan.
