Easter basket distribution

By: Web Staff

ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Local organizations are joining forces to spread Easter cheer. For the 27th consecutive year, members of the Konosioni Masonic Lodge in Fayetteville are joining with Russo Produce to provide an Easter dinner for local families in need.

This year, they put together 80 baskets filled with fresh produce, ham, canned goods and treats. The baskets were then brought to the Syracuse Northeast Community Center to be distributed to the families.

"One of the tenets of masonry is charity and to help out your fellow man and really that's why all these brothers are here today, on their work day, to help out and do something for the community. Especially on a great day like today," said Ray Schortemeier.

Approximately 300 adults and children will enjoy a holiday meal through the effort.
