VERNON, N.Y. -- Customers at Vernon Downs Casino and Hotel have generated more than $39 million in revenue for local governments and education in New York State since opening its casino in 2006.

The New York State Lottery says the casino generated nearly $900,000 for the local community last year alone. That's up nearly 13 percent from the year before.
