Julie Chapman - Anchor
Julie Chapman is a morning anchor weekdays on News 10 Now and our sister station Capital News 9. She is a veteran in television news with 15 years experience.
While here, Julie's assignments have taken her from New York City for the Republican National Convention to Washington, DC for the NTSB's hearing on the Ethan Allen Tragedy.
She comes to us from WBAL-TV, the NBC affiliate in Baltimore where she was the weekend anchor on their top rated newscast. She's covered the controversial 2000 presidential election from Washington, DC, and interviewed well-known figures in sports history, including future Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr. In addition to anchoring, she was a general assignment reporter as well as an award winning health reporter for NBC News Channel.
Julie has also been an anchor/reporter at WBNG-TV and WICZ-TV in her hometown of Binghamton, and she started her career at WENY-TV in Elmira.
Julie has been awarded by the Associated Press and NYS Broadcaster's Association for excellence in covering live breaking news and her in-depth special reports.
Julie is a graduate of SUNY Cortland where she was recognized for excellence in journalism and television production. She also developed and taught a broadcast journalism curriculum at the New School of Radio and Television.
She lends her time to help causes such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, breast cancer awareness and other family charities.
