Kate Welshofer is News 10 Now’s weeknight anchor. She brings more than a decade of experience to our newsroom, previously working as a producer and reporter at our sister station, R News in Rochester.
A St. Bonaventure University graduate, Kate's natural curiosity along with a love of creative writing and storytelling is what attracted her to the news business. One of her proudest achievements is the creation of "News for Kids" in Rochester, the first-of-its-kind programming in that area offering stories for and about kids. It led to residencies at local schools, where Kate shared her expertise with aspiring fifth and sixth grade journalists. Kate's work was also recognized by the National Press Photographer's Association.
