ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Trial for the man accused of killing Utica Police Officer Thomas Lindsey wrapped up for the week. Wesley Molina-Cirino is standing trial for the murder of Officer Lindsey. Inmates testified that they heard him talk about the shooting while he was in jail.

Dennis Rodgers testified that he overheard Cirino say that he had wanted to kill Sammy Rivera, but saw a baby in his car. Rodgers told jurors Cirino said he couldn't kill Rivera because of the baby, but he felt like he had to kill someone, so he decided to kill Officer Lindsey instead.

Sammy Rivera was driving the car that Lindsey had pulled over when he was shot.

A Utica Police officer also testified about the statement Cirino gave to police. Cirino said it wasn't him who shot the cop; it was Rivera and his friends.
