WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- Kids had a chance to help raise money for other kids by bowling for the Children's Miracle Network. The "Children Bowling Fore Children" Bowl-A-Thon was held Sunday at the Pla-Mor Lanes on State Street in Watertown.

Children who signed up for the event went out and collected pledges from various donors. The Fort Drum B.O.S.S., or Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers Program also helped out. Last year's event raised more than $12,000 and the goal this year is $15,000.

"It's unbelievable, the children actually. It's a lot easier for children to go out and ask for money. The thing is the children work the community for the children of our community,” said Jason Tanner, "Just Fore Fun" Co-Director.

"It's a great cause. It's going to help a lot of kids that have a lot of needs like physical and metal disabilities. So it's a great opportunity for us,” said Staff. Sgt. Jason Engels, Fort Drum B.O.S.S.

The two kids who raised the most money each got a new bicycle. All money raised stays in the North Country.
