WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- The Great North Country Pinewood Derby was part of the Outdoor Expo. The event, put together by Cub Scout Pack 37 in Adams, saw more than 30 cars race down the track hoping to take home first place.
The cars are carved out of blocks of wood. There was a children's division and an adult division. Organizers said the event is not only fun, but puts the importance of Cub Scouts on the front burner.
"A lot of people have come and asked us, 'How do we get our child in Cub Scouts?' We've been able to provide that answer,” said Jay Matteson, Outdoor Expo organizer.
