BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- The star of the A&E Network show "Criss Angel Mindfreak" was interested in performing in Binghamton, although it won't end up happening.
According to city officials, the magician wanted to escape from inside the Ross Building when it is set for demolition. But the television show's inquiry stopped short of magic when they found out the building was not going to be imploded.
A well-known magician had plans to do a disappearing act when the Ross Building was being demolished.
"It certainly was quite interesting to receive a phone call, an interest, in Criss Angel taking part in some sort of escape in the Ross Building during its demolition. And at the time we also took into consideration that the demolition was going to take place in a little bit different way than the producer's of the show had foreseen," said Andrew Block, Director of Community Relations.
The city's Director of Community Relations says the city will decide soon when and in what way they will demolish the building.
