JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- Some youngsters are getting a taste of summer camp thanks to the North Country Sheriff's Department. Sunday morning about 25 children from Lewis and Jefferson Counties boarded a bus and headed to Sheriff's Camp.

The week long trip is sponsored by the New York State Sheriffs' Association Institute.

The camp, located in Yates County, is designed for kids who might not otherwise have a chance to go away this summer.
