SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Michelangelo exhibit is completely open to the public and Syracuse University is encouraging everyone to come experience this rare collection.
The exhibit contains 28 pieces, 14 of them by Michelangelo himself and 14 others that help illustrate the type of artist he was. The collection came to Syracuse from Italy and will continue on to New York City in the fall.
Syracuse University Art Gallery Director Domenic Iacono said the school is honored to host this extraordinary exhibit.
"At any given time there's less than six pieces of Michelangelo artwork in the United States, and now we have 14 at one time in this space, so this is really a coup for us. This is quite a special event, and we're more than excited to have it here," Iacono said.
He's known throughout history as the Renaissance man and now the works of Michelangelo are on display at Syracuse University. News 10 Now's Katie Morse has more on the exhibit.
The exhibit will stay at Syracuse University through October 19th.
There is no charge to visit the exhibit and everyone is invited to come and enjoy it.
