ALBANY, N.Y. -- Former New York Gov. George Pataki is in stable condition after abdominal surgery.
Pataki had a blockage in his intestines relieved on Thursday and is expected to make a full recovery.
Pataki had two abdominal surgeries in 2006.
We caught up with Pataki earlier this week. It's been a little over a year since he walked away from the job he held for 12 years as leader of New York's state government.

Within a few months of that, Pataki also walked away from a potential bid for the Republican nomination for President.
These days, the former governor calls a Manhattan law office home, focusing on environmental issues. In addition to his work at Chadbourne-Parke, he has also begun a consulting firm with former chief of staff, John Cahill. The focus there, as well, is on development of green technology.
Pataki tells us that the "green movement" could lead to an economic rebirth for much of the state.
Pataki said, "You're going to see these alternate forms of energy, many of which depend on natural products that we have in Upstate New York, generate high-tech jobs, generate manufacturing jobs, generate transportation jobs, and, of course, be a boon for the agricultural sector. So, I'm really excited about this."
