CICERO, N.Y. -- The town of Cicero also voted to reduce the speed limit on Bartel and Ladd roads to 40 miles per hour on Monday night.
Currently, the speed limit on Bartel varies from 40 to 45 miles per hour. On Ladd Road, the speed limit is 55 miles per hour.
Residential developments have increased in the area and people who live in the area say lower speeds are necessary to insure safety.
The town of Cicero also voted to reduce the speed limit on Bartel and Ladd roads to 40 miles per hour on Monday night.
"The speed limit signs say 45 when you turn on to Bartel from Ladd. They hit that bank right there and they're going 60. So it's definitely a problem," said Cicero resident Jennifer Roser.
Police say they clocked 150 cars driving in the area this weekend and only one was found to be speeding.
