OSWEGO, N.Y. -- Officials are investigating a fire that destroyed a historic home in Oswego. It started at about 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Tudor and Marie Grant home on West Bridge Street. No one was injured, but we're told that 12 people from two families lived in the house.

Investigators are still looking into the cause, but do have one idea as to how it may have started.

A two apartment house is destroyed after a fire in Oswego. It started at about 10 a.m. at 134 West Bridge Street. Andy Mattison reports.
"I did hear there was a child playing with a lighter. That's what the preliminary report is that a child was playing with a lighter. That's about all I know right now,” said Joseph Perry, Oswego Fire Chief.

Tudor Grant bought the home in 1854 and it was part of Oswego's Underground Railroad.
