DOT worker laid to rest

A Department of Transportation worker killed earlier this week in a work zone is laid to rest. Gary Farrell was hit by a truck Monday while working as a flag person on Route 28 in Forestport. Friends and family say he was a family man and active in the community. Iris St. Meran has more on his legacy and a lesson that motorists everywhere can learn from Farrell's sacrifice.

More than 500 registered nurses at St. Elizabeth Medical Center have approved a new three-year contract. Nurses get to keep all their benefits, including the defined-benefit pension plan and daily calculation of overtime.

Two hurt in Forestport crash

Two people are hurt after a crash in the Town of Forestport. Authorities say a 46-year-old woman lost control of her car, drove off the roadway, and hit a tree. She and a passenger were taken to the hospital for treatment.
