UTICA, N.Y. -- These Groucho Marx-Style glasses will make their debut at this year's boilermaker. The race's organizers announced a partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield Excellus and the F.X. Matt Brewery to raise awareness about the value of generic drugs. They're also trying to set a record.

"We're going to try to set the world record of Groucho glasses here. Last year, the last one was set in Syracuse. We're trying to get at least 5,000 people to do this. And what better venue to do it at the post race party, where everybody's having a lot of fun," said race director Jim Stasaitis.

Boilermaker just a few weeks away
America's largest 15K road race is a little more than three weeks away. The Boilermaker has been going strong for nearly 30 years. And organizers are adding the final touches to their plans for this year's race. Our Iris St. Meran has a preview.
And the fun doesn't stop there. Time Warner is sponsoring the Road Runner Mile this year. It's an opportunity for competitive runners to have a part of this world renowned race.

"Long distance runners are different from the mile runners and you know a lot of people just concentrate on the mile will not get into the long distance, but we wanted to give them something and there are a lot of real good runners here in high school and college and we wanted to get them involved," said Stasaitis.

Caitlin McCann has run the 15K four times and is excited hit the pavement again this year.

"It's an amazing race. And it's more amazing not only the people that run in it, but the people that support it. There's just so many people the entire course and it just pumps you up not matter where you are. If you start slowing down, if you feel a little tired, somebody's there to say come on you can do it," said McCann.

And for those of you that feel you can do it. There's still time to register. The Deadline is June 30th at midnight.
