Fight to keep prisons open
Four state prisons are once again threatened with closure as Governor Paterson proposes massive cuts in his new budget. Our Karen Lee visited one of those camps in Chenango County and spoke with the Central Region Vice President of the New York State Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association. He tells her how union members are once again banding together to fight the closure.

Venue change denied for Calvin Harris retrial
The retrial of murder suspect Calvin Harris will stay in Tioga County. The Supreme Court's Appellate Division denied a motion by Harris' attorney requesting a change of venue.

Fire destroys Elmira apartment
An Elmira woman is homeless after a fire destroyed her apartment Sunday. Elmira fire officials say the fire broke out around 3:30 p.m. at the Riverview Apartments on Third Street.
