NEW BREMEN, N.Y . -- A Lewis County woman is arrested and charged with cruelty to animals for allegedly burning her dog's back with a hot item or liquid, causing the dog to have permanent skin damage.

Michelle Pressnall, 43, of New Bremen is also charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

While investigating the cruelty to animal complaint deputies noticed that Pressnall possessed a rifle and a 12-gauge shotgun even though she had been convicted of a felony back in 2003.

Pressnall was arraigned and sent to Lewis County jail on $1,500 bail.
