Lawmakers agree to budget cuts
The Senate is coming back to Albany this morning to vote on a plan to cut the state budget by $1 billion over two years. Assembly members voted well into the night and as expected passed what's called a "circuit breaker" system, a plan the Senate is not expected to sign off on. Capital Tonight's Erin Billups has an update for us.

Lawmakers return to Albany for special session
It was a late night for lawmakers who were called back to Albany on Tuesday for a special session by Governor Paterson. The Governor called on the Legislature to make nearly $600 million in budget cuts. Josh Robin has more.

Hawkins gets enough signatures to get on ballot
It appears the race for Congress in the 25th District will be a three way affair. Howie Hawkins has filed independent petitions seeking a ballot spot for the race against Democrat Dan Maffei and Republican Dale Sweetland.

Tax cap lessons from Bay State
If you pay property taxes, you probably heard by now about the Governor and Senate's plan for a tax cap. It limits by how much a school district can increase its budget each year. But as Curtis Schick reports, some say all you have to do is look east for reasons why the plan has problems.
