ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Oneonta entered Monday with a half-game divisional lead over Vermont. That would change by nights-end.
Game one, Vermont scores two runs each in the first and seventh innings. Blake Stouffer hit a two-run homer off Tigers starter Trevor Freeney in the first. Freeney would go six, giving up those two runs on six hits. Oneonta manages just four hits in game one. Vermont takes a 4-1 win.
Game two, Oneonta manages just three hits as they fall 4-2 in the nightcap. Lake Monsters pitchers strike out ten Tigers. They scored three in the fifth to pull away from Oneonta. The Tigers are now a game and a half behind Vermont for first place. They'll take on Batavia on Tuesday.
