LEWIS COUNTY, N.Y. -- A North Country woman hopes 18 years of work will help hundreds of children who could use a hug.
Nancy Teater of Lowville has been collecting teddy bears for nearly two decades. In all, she has more than 370 stuffed animals. Teater has now decided to give those bears to people who might need them more than her. She's hooking up with a company called Hugs Across America that's going to help her donate them to children around the word.

"We found Hugs Across America that will take them because they will go to children that have been abused, homeless, lost their house because of fires, because of hurricanes," Teater said.
Teater also hopes some bears will go to kids with parents serving overseas.
