POTSDAM, N.Y. -- A Sunday night fire destroys a Village of Potsdam home, leaving two people homeless. It started just after 7 p.m. at 681 Route 11B.
Crews from West Stockholm, Parishville, Norwood and Hannawa Falls were called in to help. Both people inside were able to escape injury, but one firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation, as well as for falling down a flight of stairs. The St. Lawrence County Fire Investigation Team is looking into the cause.
