MARATHON, N.Y. -- More than 100 snowmobiles raced across Lovell Field for the Snow Dusters' 18th annual drag race. That's twice as many people who signed up and even more spectators lined up to watch.
The event was recently re-named the Ty Braman Memorial Race. He's the Snow Dusters' former president who was killed in a snowmobile accident.
Despite the potential for danger, organizers say the sport's popularity continues to grow.
"For a lot of people I think it's just an adrenaline rush, you get time to get out, you have fun and be with the guys," said Jordan Betts, President of the Snow Dusters.

All profits from the race will go towards the snowmobile club and trail maintenance.
