NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. -- It's been two years since New Hartford Police Officer Joseph Corr was killed in the line of duty. Corr was shot during a pursuit of two suspects after a jewelry store robbery.

To mark the two year anniversary of his death, family, friends and fellow officers gathered to pay tribute to Corr and other law enforcement members who risk their lives.

"He was a good kid. He did his duty with honor and courage. I think he tried to do his best. Unfortunately, he had to pay that price. I think all of the officers, whether it's New Hartford, Utica, County or the Troopers, they take that chance everyday, and they exemplify that," said his father Dave Corr.

The memorial service was followed by a candlelight vigil at the site where Corr was killed.

Toussaint Davis will spend life in prison for his role in Corr's death. The man who admitted to supplying the weapons in the robbery will be sentenced in March.

Corr's father says once those who were involved in his son's death are brought to justice, he and his family will get some closure.

Toussaint Davis was sentenced to 300 years behind bars for his role in the death of Officer Corr.

The New Hartford Police Chief says the District Attorney is still waiting to prosecute two remaining suspects who were involved in the robbery the night Officer Corr was killed. They are currently in a New Jersey jail.
