CANASTOTA, N.Y. -- Multiple fire crews responded to a fire at a wire recycling center in Canastota. Flames broke out about 8:00 Thursday night at Prime Material Recovery Incorporated on Madison Boulevard.

Thirteen fire departments responded because of toxic smoke and the size of the building.

"Very difficult because it's a large building and it filled up with smoke very fast and it made it tough for us to see,” said Canastota Assistant Fire Chief Bruce Chandler.
