SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Onondaga County Republicans are slowly thinning the field of potential candidates in the race for their party's nomination for Congress in the 25th District. Syracuse common councilor Ryan McMahon said he will not seek an endorsement.
The main showdown, coming in May, now appears to be between former Onondaga County Legislature Chairman Dale Sweetland and State Assemblyman Robert Oaks of Wayne County.
McMahon won't run

Walsh is retiring in November.
