SOUTHERN TIER, N.Y. -- A Broome County teen has been arrested after police say he led them on a high-speed chase that ended in the village of Afton.

Matthew Noyes, 18, of Harpursville has been charged with several misdemeanors and traffic violations. Investigators say officers tried to stop Noyes for not having a plate lamp early Sunday morning on Interstate 88. They say he was clocked on radar driving more than 130 miles-per-hour.

Police say Noyes was taken into custody after he left the highway and hit a stop sign at Route 41 and Maple Street. He was released on $1,000 bail.
