ITHACA, N.Y. -- "He's really intelligent, so I don't think he would just get into a bad situation. It just doesn't sound like him at all."

William Jacobson was last seen a house on Grandview Avenue early Sunday morning. Friends say he left a themed party dressed as William Shakespeare.

"We were at a history party, so he shaved his facial hair so he'd look like William Shakespeare," said Aleisa Moussa, a sophomore at Ithaca College.

He stopped at 105 Grandview Avenue. Police say it was believed he was then planning to return to his room on campus, but no one heard from Jacobson and friends reported him missing late Monday night. Police searched all day Tuesday but were unable to locate him.

"He's described as an excellent student, no history of any problems or anything that would help explain this," said Ed Vallely, Acting Ithaca Police Chief.

Search continues for missing IC student
Friends of a missing Ithaca College student are trying to get the word out about his disappearance. Freshman William Jacobson, 19, was last seen on Grandview Avenue in Ithaca early Sunday morning. Our Allison Lazarz talked with students who are distributing missing person posters in an effort to find their friend.

Some of Will's close friends made a Facebook group for him that got a lot of attention from students who offered to help distribute missing person posters.

"After we made the Facebook group and told people about it, we recruited countless people and they've been distributing them. We appreciate what everybody's doing, we're really proud and you know pleased with the amount of support we've gotten, even from people that don't know him," said Scott Kellerhouse, a freshman at Ithaca College.

And while police search for clues in his disappearance, Jacobson's friends say he's the type to notice the small things in life.

"He was the kind of person that would always analyze things and make really keen observations about things other people may not notice," Kellerhouse said.

Police will continue their search Wednesday morning.
