SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- In an effort to get more people pedaling to work, the Rescue Mission declared Friday Bike to Work Day in Syracuse. They also held a picnic lunch at the the Mission's recreation center. Group members said there are many benefits to riding a bike, especially right now.
"With gas prices hovering around the four dollar mark and expected to go even higher. I believe bicycle is a viable option not only for energy purposes but for the environment,” said Paul LaDoche, the Rescue Mission's communications manager.
