VESTAL, N.Y. -- It is graduation time for high schools across the Southern Tier. A total of 184 seniors at Maine-Endwell High School walked down the aisles at the Events Center at Binghamton University Friday night. It was a bitter sweet moment for both the students and their principal.
"For us tonight is kind of a double-edged sword. We have the end of 13 years of public education and then you have the beginning of the next chapter in their life. So it's kind of a bitter sweet moment for us," said Jason Van Fossem, Maine-Endwell High School Principal.

All the graduating seniors wore a pink breast cancer ribbon in honor of Giselle Cummings. Cummings was the advisor for the class of 2008 and passed away in February.
A number of other high schools hold their graduations Saturday.
