SANDY CREEK, N.Y. -- Sandy Creek was buzzing Wednesday as the Oswego County Fair got underway. In addition to rides, food and games, the first day was marked by performances from Maximum Velocity and the Pogo Dudes.
On Thursday, the fair will have a demolition derby at the grandstand. This year the fair is celebrating Christmas in July by featuring the county's Christmas tree growers.
Sandy Creek will be buzzing all week as the Oswego County Fair comes to town for five days.
"We want to make sure that everybody understands that they're a crop and cutting them is wonderful and we wanted to promote our tree growers," said Oswego County Fair President Carol Sweeney.
The fair runs through Sunday.
