JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Michigan woman accused of killing her newborn baby was sentenced Monday morning in Jefferson County court.
Andrea Kline received one year sentence for criminally negligent in the death of a newborn and five years probation.
Police say Kline was visiting her boyfriend in February of last year when she gave birth. The baby was later found in a trash can at the Best Western Hotel in Watertown. Autopsy results showed the baby died from blunt force trauma that caused a skull fracture and bleeding on the brain.
Kline had originally been charged with second degree murder.
