Judicial Board makes decision on SU players

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A ruling comes from the Syracuse University Judicial Board, regarding basketball players Jonny Flynn, Antonio "Scoop" Jardine and Rick Jackson.

It stems from an incident last year when the three players were freshmen. A female student accused the players of sexual assault.

Earlier this month, an Onondaga County Grand Jury exonerated the players, saying no crime took place, and now the attorneys for both Flynn and Jackson tell us the school's judicial board also cleared their clients of any sexual misconduct.

"We are very gratified, on behalf of Rick Jackson, that the judicial board at Syracuse University made the same determination as the grand jury, and that is that he was not responsible for any type of alleged non consensual acts,” said Michael Vavonese, Jackson's Attorney.

The students were, however, found guilty of breaking the university's code of student conduct. As a result, the players have been placed on probation but will still be allowed to attend school and play on the basketball team.

Jackson's lawyer said the players are glad to finally put this incident behind them.
