JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- Lisa Parker told the court losing her three children in a car crash has caused a pain no one can heal. She stated in court, "I don't know what happened. I can't say I did something that I don't remember."

On June 22nd of 2007, Parker was pulled over for driving erratically in Chaumont. As the deputy approached the car, Parker sped off, driving over 80 miles per hour. She ended up crashing into a telephone poll and killing her three children and unborn baby upon impact.

Parker's lawyer claims some sort of psychological factor occurred that night.

A Weedsport woman accused of killing her three children in a car crash was sentenced in Jefferson County Court. Lisa Parker will spend one to three years in a correctional facility for the 2007 crash. Our Amy Ohler was in court for the emotional sentencing.
"All I can say is amnesia is real. You're talking about a woman who was thrown from the, through the front windshield of her vehicle. She was in a coma for seven weeks and she suffered horrific, horrific injuries. She has no recollection of the events, she does not remember it," said Peter Juliano, Defense Attorney.

Parker's ex-mother in law, Debra Parker, believes Lisa is simply hiding behind a mental disease which she doesn't have. In court, Debra Parker said, "She has flung my family into a nightmare that we cannot awaken from."

"It doesn't give me closure, I thought it would. I just wanted to see justice done. I just didn't want the children’s' death to be gone unnoticed," said Debra Parker.

The District Attorney's office says Parker made a very bad decision that night.

"Well, I mean this was a horrific accident, horrific event that we believe could have been avoided and Mrs. Parker made choices that night of June 22nd that needed to be answered for," said Cindy Intschert, Jefferson County District Attorney.

Lisa Parker has been sentenced to one to three years. Her attorney says he will be looking into the possibility of making an appeal.

While handing down the sentence, Judge Kim Martusewicz stated that this case has caused tragedy to many people. He went on to say healing can only come from a much higher authority than this court
