By: Web Staff

A bill in Albany will rename section of State Route 840 in Oneida County after Officer Joseph Corr.

The bill passed in the State Assembly Wednesday and now awaits the governor's signature to be signed into law.

The section of the road from State Route 8 in the Town of New Hartford to Halsey Road in Whitestown would be called the Officer Joseph D. Corr Memorial Highway.

The New Hartford Police Officer was shot and killed last year in the town of Kirkland shortly after a jewelry store was robbed.
